Detective, 2 others shot at suspected drug house - Another officer also injured as police tried to serve warrant
A Dallas narcotics detective and two other people were
shot late Thursday at a suspected drug house in Pleasant
Grove.
Police were serving a warrant shortly after 9 p.m. when
the detective was shot in the leg in the 9700 block of Pinehurst
Lane. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
Another officer was hurt, but officials said he had not
been shot.
The injured were taken to Baylor University Medical Center
and Parkland Memorial Hospital. Their names and conditions
were not released late Thursday.
"There was a loud explosion, it was very loud, and
then we heard two muffled explosions," neighbor Jay
Carde said of the gunfire.
Another neighbor, Carol Evans, said she had suspected illegal
activity at the house.
"There's some drug activity going on, prostitutes
walking back and forth," she said. |
