Dallas detective recovering from shooting
A Dallas narcotics detective was recovering Friday, hours
after he was shot trying to deliver a search warrant at
a suspected drug house in Pleasant Grove.
Police arrested Marcus Moss, 34, on charges of aggravated
assault on a public servant and manufacturing and delivery
of drugs, Sgt. Gil Cerda said. Sharon Edwards, 40, was arrested
and charged with manufacturing and delivery of drugs.
Police seized 4.9 grams of cocaine and a revolver, Sgt.
Cerda said.
The incident started as police were serving a warrant shortly
after 9 p.m. Thursday in the 9700 block of Pinehurst Lane.
The detective, who Sgt. Cerda said could not be identified
because he works undercover, was shot in the leg.
The detective's condition was unavailable Friday morning,
but his injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
A man and woman inside the apartment were also shot. Sgt.
Cerda said, but he declined to release their names, ages
or conditions, citing privacy laws.
Police don't know yet who shot the couple. "They were
shot during the exchange of gunfire," Sgt. Cerda said.
"There was a loud explosion, it was very loud, and
then we heard two muffled explosions," neighbor Jay
Carde said of the gunfire.
Another neighbor, Carol Evans, said she had suspected illegal
activity at the house.
"There's some drug activity going on, prostitutes
walking back and forth," she said. |
